The Night Parade, known as Podarati (i.e. on foot), takes place on the last Saturday, the night before the Big Parade. We could definitely say that it is something like a warm-up, but honestly, it is so much more.
To begin with, it is the first time that the new costumes are worn and presented. This is really a very special moment! Then, although it is a parade without the impressive floats, it is still breathtaking since all carnival groups have to find smart and effective ways to illuminate their costumes! Creativity, spontaneity, artistic skills and talent are required and everyone seems to extremely enjoying the deeds. An endless party is in process almost everywhere in the city. It feels like living an endless night.
Everybody is getting ready for the Big Parade…
